Sunset Worship
A poem about sunset. It describes what happens inside when the sky changes colour, a quiet stirring, a call to stop and worship. God's creation speaks, and the sunset reminds me to answer.

There is something about creation that brings the majesty of God to remembrance. Whenever I look at the sunset, it reminds me of His intentionality, His thoughtfulness in every detail of what He has made. You can only love Him more the longer you look. I wrote this poem to describe how I feel every time the sun sets. God is great.
Sunset Worship
Creation speaks of who You are,
it shows Your glory near and far.
One glance to where the sun goes down,
and beauty spreads without a sound.
So now I lift my hands to You,
to bless Your name, so good and true.
Something quickens deep within,
a joy that words cannot begin.
The warmth still rests upon my skin,
the air grows still, the light grows thin.
And every evening feels the same,
my heart leans in to bless Your name.
Like an alarm that will not rest,
the sunset calls, and I am blessed.
It calls me back to what I've known,
and turns my heart before Your throne.
The sun sinks low behind the hill,
yet worship rises in me still.
You made the dusk to draw me near,
to hush my rushing, calm my fear.
So let this be my evening song,
to praise the One to whom I belong.
Each sunset calls me by my name,
and stirs in me this quiet flame.
A quickening only You can give,
a reason, once again, to live.
I turn my face again to You,
caught up in warmth and grace anew.
